<*. The Bluff, This Day. The Gothenburg arrived at daylight this morning, from Melbourne, having left at 4* p.m. on Aug. 17 The Gothenburg has 45 tons cargo for Lyttelton. The news is unimportant. Another large diamond has been found. Nelson, Aug. 21, 12 noon. Kooti's emissaries who visited Ohinemuri, left for Mataoraou, East Coast, to confer with the Ngatiporou. It is thought that Kooti has not got any ammunition. The Ohinemuri Hau-haus boasted of the diggers' rush there that Kooti would help to drive back. Another claim, the Morning Star, was opened at the Thames this week ; forty-seven ounces to the ton have been estimated. The Coromandel news, is good. [ Ssjlxcellent specimens of steel from Taranaki sand, obtained by a recent smelting, are worth £40 per ton, j which can be sent home at £10. A company has been formed, and shares are in demand. A party is going from New Plymouth, to resume work at a quartz I reef in the Kaitaki ranges, sanguine of finding gold. There is no Native news from Taranaki. All quiet north and south. Napieb, Aug. 22, 5 p.m. News arrived last evening by Dr GKbbs that Kooti with 300 men is between Eunanga and Tapaharuru. 80 foot constabulary left Petane this morning, and 70 mounted are under orders to leave on Thursday. The destination of the forces iB Kunanga. Captain Fox, of the St. Kilda, reports rumours at Tauranga that Kooti was at Katikati. The St Kilda, however, landed her guns and ammunition. "Waikato is slumbering. Colonel Elliott's orders have been received as to stopping the removal of the 18th from here.
