ARRIVED. Aug. 1 9 — Omeo, s.s., 660 tons, Calder, from Melbourne, via Dunedin. Aug. 19— King Oscar, barque, Sullivan, from Newcastle. Aug. 19 — Rifleman, schooner, Griffiths, frpm Kennedy Bay. IMPORTS. In the King Oscar, C W. Turner, agent : ;400 tons coal, C. W. Turner. In the Rifleman, Master, agent: 57,000 feet kauri pine, 75 pkgs sashes and doors, Order. The three-masted schooner Rifleman arrived in harbour this morning, from Kennedy Bay. She brings a cargo of timber. The barque King Oscar arrived in harbour this morning, from Newcastle. She left that port on Friday, 16th ult.; experienced strong southerly winds on leaving, and on arriving off this coast strong N.E.' winds ; spoke no vessel during the passage. learn from Messrs Miles and Co., the agents here, that the fine new boat Maori, •having been placed in the Duiiedin, Lyttelton, and intermediate ports trade, will leave Dunedin to-day, and arrive at Lyttelton on Saturday, proceeding on her return trip on Monday morning. During her stay in port she will be open for public inspection. We are informed that she is a powerful boat, having good passenger accommodation, with large carrying capacity, and therefore well ' adapted for the trade. Tiie Jupiter had a very quick discharge, und has loaded-up with what we hope will prove a remunerative cargo — Westland timber — for Lyttelton. The more filled up vessels that leave us the better for the future prosperity of the port. — West Coast Times, Aug. 14.
