Dr Menzies, in the Legislative Council, opposed the Otago Waste Lands Bill, which was read a second time by 6 to 5. Mr Hall raovied for a committee to inquire into the excess of expenditure alleged by the financial Treasurer to have taken place last year. Mr Yogel, in a long speech, opposed the proposal. The debate ib still proceeding.
