We have been requested to publish the following letter : — To his Honor the Superintendent, Province of Canterbury, Fir, — On behalf of ourselves and mates who are working for gold in the Malvern Hills, on whose behalf a claim for the reward wa3 sent in to you, we wish to state we are not desirous of claiming the reward of £200, as we do not consider it to be sufficiently remunerative.
