LYT TELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Monday, Junk 28* . The Council met at the usual hour. Present : Councillors England, Allwrigbt, Ward, Hawkins; His Worship the Mayor presiding. The minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed. The Clerk informed the Council that he had during the week received — Rent, D. Davis, £27 lOsf - ; The outward correspondence was read, but calls for no special remark. The Inspector of Nuisances' report was read. It stated that a coniplaiut had been made by Mr J. P. Oliver, respecting night soil being thrown down the grating near his house. Upon inquiry j he had discovered who the person was^Jand had summoned her. The case had been heard before the. Resident Magistrate, and had been dismissed upon payment of costs. Notices had been served upon other persons, and had been attended 'to. ■ ■■■■ ... His Worship said he had had an inter- i view with Captain Wood, who positively declined to accept the office of Superintendent of the Fife Brigaded He had also spoken to several of the members of the old brigade; and they were willing to f orni a volunteer force and "16 "take the small" engine.'
