Tne Star OTice, Th's Dav. The land sales to-day amounted to 75 acres, as follows : —Ellesmere district, 25 acres : Banks' Peuiusula do, 30 acres ; Malvern do, 20 acres. The total quantity of flax exported from the colony during the quarter ending on the 31st March last was 3SO£ tons, representing a money value of £7614. Of this amount Auckland contributed £5480, Lyttelton £16 -to, Dunedin £-144, and Wellington £50. The value per ton was thus about £20 0s 7d.

Messrs Wilson and Alport report the cattle : market as steady: prices fully maintained. Atthe Carlton ya-ds on Wednesday, they sold a small mob of good quality steers, part fnt, and also a few dairy cows, at full rates. ■ Pn Saturday, at Cashel street yards, they had a fair supply of dairy cows, which brought good prices, according to quality.

Preece's Central Market on Saturday was - well supplied with butcher meat, whicli met • ..with a" steady sale at the following prices : — Carcase sheep, ,2s 6d to 8d each; do lamb, . 4s to -"s each ; beef, ld to od per lb ; veal, £d .to 5d per lb. The Btalls of trees, shrubs, fruits, vegetables, dressed poultry and dairy produce, &c, appeared to have received a fair share of patronage. A large quantity of pigs and poultry were disposed of at auction, at the following prices : —Pigs. — Fat pigs, •40s lo 60s each ; porkers, 18s to 30s do ; stores, 8s "to los do ; suckers, 4s to 7s 6d do. Poultry.-— Cock turkeys, 5s to 7s Gd each ; hen do. .is^to' 6s per. pair ; geese, 3s to 4s er.ch ; Rouen ducks, 8s 6d to 10s 6d per pair; common do, 33 to 43 d0; fowls, Is 6d to 4s do.
