COMMERCIAL CRASH IN TASMANIA
The Bluff, This Day, 9.18 a.m. I The Gothenburg arrived from Mel-
bourne at 11.30 last night. Left Melbourne on the 19th. There is no news of any particular importance from Victoria. W. J.T. Clark is seriously ill. Hugh Glass is in money difficulties. Five banks have resolved to support him. Tha Sydney news is unimportant, and the same remark applies to Adelaide. From Tasmania, it is reported that G-aunt, corn merchant, has failed for £60,000. W. W. White is also insolvent, his liabilities being £35,000. Othar extensive failures — iv fact, a commercial erash — is anticipated.
