The Ro3e M., barque, Captain Pendleton, cleared the Customs on Saturday for Auckland) and was expected to sail last night. The Nora, schooner, Captain Moreland, arrived in harbour, on Friday night, and came up to her anchorage on Saturday from Picton ; loft on the 2nd inst., with strong southerly winds up to 4th, when it changed to N.E., which continued with foggy weather up to arrival. The Nora brings a cargo of coal consigned to Messrs Brownell and Co Thb schooner Mavis left Charleston on May 26 ; had light northerly winds and calms to Cape Farewell ; on rounding the Cape on May 31, met a S.E. gale, which compelled the schooner to put back to Waaganui Inlet ; remained there until June 3 ; had light northerly winds to abreast of Queen Charlotte Sound : on the night of the sth, while rounding Cook's Rock, met a Heavy gale from the S.E., and hove to until daylight ; then ran for Kapitea ; left there next day, and ran through the Straits on the 6th with a strong nor'-wester ; passed the Kaikouras on the 7th, and on the Bth met with southerly weather ; put back to Kaikpuraa, and remained there two days ; experienced . light variable winds and calms from the latter place to this port, arriving on Saturday.
