Captain Sehenkell, of the ketch Linnet, arrived in harbour last night. He reports the wreck of a schooner, supposed to be the Dove. She is lying among the rocks, half a mile on tbe south side of Mclntosh Bay. The Dove left Port for Le Bon Bay to load timber, and from last accounts she was loaded. Captain' Schenkell was not able to get near enough to the wreck to make enquiries. The crew were seen getting out timber and carrying it up the hill side. The fine schooner Golden Isle has been raised. This vessel was wrecked, and sunk at the breastwork during the heavy gale on April 4. She was then loaded and ready for sea, having a full cargo of grain on board. As she was insured, the Captain abandoned her to the underwriters. Tenders for raising her were called for, and accepted, Messrs Cannell and Watson being the successful tenderers. They, after taking out portions of the cargo, tried to raise her by means of vessels. After several attempts had been made, and several of the crafts having had narrow escapes of sharing her fate, the Insurance Company touk the matter in their own hands. They employed Mr Thompson and Captain Dunsforcl to raise her. The cargo remaining in the vessel was then got out by the divers, and large shears on platforms were sunk near the schooner, and made fast to her with proper tackle. It was thought by many that the shears would not bear the weight of the vessel. On Saturday afternoon, the work of raising her commenced. Gangs of men were placed at a large Californian pnmp, others at a large scoop, and another >!ang had buckets. Soon after 4 o'clock, the men commenced and worked on for the first hour without making any seeming impression on the immense body of water. The pump worked admirably, but owing to some slight defect, the scoop could not be worked. The men gained gradually on the water, and by half-past seven, the vessel was pumped dry. At midnight (high water) the vessel was towed round by the s.s. Halcyon to the Government Wharf and beached. With the

exception of her starboard bulwarks and stern, she does not seem to be much injured. The hull is sound. She will go on to the slip to-day to be repaired. Great credit is due to Messrs Thompson and Dunsford for raising the vessel.
