The schooner "Mavis arrived last night ; tf&e left Hokitika at noon, 29th April ; ~i§gl-_t S.W. breeze to Cape Farewell, which was passed at midnight on the 30th ; 3Eght variable winds and calms forthe next $»welve hours ; strong westerly wind to .-B&reast o£ the Brothers ; passed a brigantine Jiff Queen Charlotte Sound, supposed to be fike Lady Don ; passed the brigantine Bravo, %*ad brig Deva, off Wellington Heads ; light •wertlierly winds and calms from Cape Terato the Kaikoras ; strong S.W. gale on 3S_fae 3rd inst off the latter place ; sighted Port -^Cooper on the morning of the sth •, passed tftirough the; heads at 6 p.m., with a strong '."-K.W". breeze. The s.s.
