Christchurch, 23rd April, 1869. Mr Robert Reay. Sir,— As the judge of the late rr.ces held at Hokitika, and a member of the Jockey Club, and a steward of the races, I can give you the satisfaction of stating that neither <he owner (Mr Barnard), nor you, the rider, nor the horse Flying Jib, were disqualified by the Club from again appearing on the course in Westland, as appeared to be the case from a mistaken report in the newspapers.
