[BY ELEOTH,IG TELEGRAPH.] Wellington, April 22, 6.30 p.m. The Lyttelton, with 50 constabulary, has arrived from Wanganui, , and will go to Napier to-morrow. She also brought three prisoners under sentence of court martial. They will be sent to Ofcago, Wellington gaol being full. A detachment of 12 constabulary from Wairarapa has received instructions to join the field force at Napier. The Superintendent has gone to the West Coast, to attend a native meeting. He will visit Mr Fox for a few days, to concert, as is supposed, a plan of operations for next session. Napieb, April 22, 7.12 p.m. News has been received that the Hau-haus have returned to Mohaka and occupied the pah they took before Maugaturanga. The pah is three miles from a pah of the friendlies. The enemy are in force, and it is supposed that their object is to revenge Koofci's death. An attack is hourly expected. A whaleboat has just gone away with Captain Withers and a party of the constabulary. Captain Kichardson's constabulary are under orders to go back, and it is supposed they will go by the Wellington steamer tomorrow. A detachment of militia, consisting of 20 of the 2nd class, who were balloted for, go to Petane for two days ; they are to be relieved by 20 volunteers. Dunedin, April 22, 7.55 p.m. The usual session of the Provincial Council was opened to-day by the Superintendent. Iq bis address he alluded principally to local matters, dwelling on the progress which had been made during the past year in opening up and settling the country.
