Badger is rapidly filling up with grain for Melbourne. The p.s. Betsy Douglas has been taken on to Messrs Flett and Loutitt's slip to receive a thorough overhaul. The fine brigantine Annie Brown, Captain Brown, arrived in harbour this morning, >froni Newcastle ; she brings a cargo of coals. The ketch Elizabeth, Captain Short, arrived in harbour yesterday, at 1.30 pm., from Picton; left the heads on Friday morning, and had fine weather. The ketch has a cargo of timber for Kaiapoi. The schooner Canterbury, Captain Bow- ■ ton, arrived in harbour yesterday, at 3 p.m., -from Picton; left the Sound on Thursday afternoon, and experienced fine weather. ' The schooner brings a cargo of timber consigned to Messrs Wood and Cuuningham The s.s. Wainui, Captain Leys, arrived in harbour on Saturday, at 8.30 p.m., from Dunedin, via intermediate ports. Left Port Chalmers at 1 p.m. Thursday, with light N.E. breeze, and arrived at Timaru on Friday at 6 a.m. ; left again at 9 p.m., and arrived in Akaroa on Saturday at 10 a.m. ; left at 1 p.m. and arrived as above ; experienced light winds and smooth sea. The barque Collingwood, bound for Ly ttelton sailed at the same time. We are indebted to the Captain for late files. Tub barque Collingwood, Captain Tyrie, arrived in harbour on Sunday night, from Dunedin. Left Newcastle on Friday, March 26 ; had light winds from N.W. for the first three days, then strong N.N.E. for four days ; light S.E. winds were experienced until land was made on April 3, about Dusky Bay ; thence had light N.E. winds ; passed south of Stewart's Island on April 7 ; from thence had strong S.W. winds until arrival in Otago heads ; on the morning of Thursday, received orders to proceed to Lyttelton ; left same day, and had light variable easterly winds until arrival. She brings a cargo of coals consigned to Order. The s.s. Beautiful Star, Captain Hepburn, arrived in harbour at 4 a.tn. on Saturday, from Wanganui ; left that port on April 3, and put into Port Underwood for water ; left on Thursday evening and arrived as above ; experienced a succession of heavy gales the first part of the voyage. The schooner Dancing Wave was in Port Underwood when the Beautiful Star left, bound from this port for Timaru, with a cargo of • coals, ex A. H. Badger. The schooner was blown out of Le Bon Bay by the late gale, having lost her anchor and chain, and had her decks swept. The Beautiful Star sailed for Dunedin at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday.
