High water — April 10,2.32 a.m.; 2.53 p.m. 11, 3.14 a.m.; 3.35 p.m. The s.s. Airedale, Capt. Kennedy, arrived , ia harbour this morning at 8 o'clock, from , Wellington and Northern ports. Left ■^Omehunga at 2.50 p.m. on the 4th ; had a lieavy breaking sea on the run, and strong "S.W. winds till 4 a.m. on the 5 th, when the -wind shifted to the S.E., with hard squalls aad a high head sea ; anchored off Taranaki *£. noon, blowing a heavy gale off shore ; iremained until 6.20 p.m. for weather to .moderate, then proceeded, but on rounding *he Sugar Loaves the wind again increased ; •hrought up at 7.30 p.m. till 10.30 p.m., when .the gale subsided ; had a heavy sea until morning, afterwards light air and smooth mater ; arrived at Nelson at 4 p.m. on the 4th ; left again at 6.15 a.m. on the Tth, and jrcached Picton at 2.45 p.m. ; sailed again at -ffp.m.jandarrived at Wellington at 9.15 p.m.; -Sopped in the Sound to laud a Maori crew ; JiAd fresh south east gales in the Straits ; left WeUington yesterday at 1.20 p.m., and ■arrived as above, experiencing fine weather.
