_*. AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT. \ TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I beg to acknowledge the receipt of £12 18s Id, the. balance of amount received at the concert in aid of the Orphan Asylum Band and Library Fund, and to thank the
'Times' Minstrels for their kindness in coming forward to assist us. The sum of £6 will be spent at once in the purchase of books, and the remainder applied towards liquidating the debt due for instruction and the purchase of instruments.
