LYTTELTON ELECTION.

: — 4 Public Meeting. ' Last night, at the invitation of Mr J. I). Macpherson, a meeting of the electors of tyttelton was held in the Colonists' Hall. The meeting was largely attended, and was presided over by his Worship the Mayor. Mr Macpherson addressed the electors at considerable length, dwelling on the chief points of local interest, and giving a very full statement of his opinions. He was listened to very attentively throughout, aud frequently applauded. ' Mr T. Meeson also addressed the electors, dwelling at some length on the existence of a cliuuein Lyttelton. „ Votes of thanks to both candidates, and to his Worship the Mayor, were passed. ". The Poll.
