High Water, March 2-^-7.20 a.m., 7.4:6 p.m.

The .Comerang, p.s., which left Akaroa on the 26th ult. for Dunedin and intermediate ports, had to return to the former port on the 27tH ult through stress of weather. She had not .sailed early yesterday, the 28th ult., but would resume her voyage during that day weather; permitting. THBrs.s. Keera arrived in port early on Sunday morning from Dunedin, via intermediate ports. Cleared Otago Heads at 6 p.m. on Friday, weather clear and fresh breeze from S.W.J at 1.30 a.m. the weather became very thick, ao much so that the steamer had to go dead, slow for several hours; arrived at Timaru at 5.30, and left again at 4.25 p.m. Experienced very severe weather since leaving Timaru. We are indebted to Mr Gillies for late files. Thh weather on Saturday changed from N.W." to a S.W., gale accompanied with a heavy rain, which continued on Saturday and yesterday. The large mooring buoys lately laid down have proved invaluable to the masters of small crafts, many of whom we noticed yesterday had made fast to them ; the large vessels lying alongside the jettys also found' their value. The only casualty we have heard of is that the Christina, which has been undergoing repairs in Dampier Bay, was carried up by the tide ; the Annie Ogle" also came ashore, just touching the sand, but she was got off to a safe mooring.
