> [BY ELECTRIC TELEGBA.PH.] Wellington, Dec. 30, 7.35 p.m. The Wellington and Wanganui Coast route has been adopted 'for the telegraph, and poles are called for by advertisement. Nine buildings were destroyed by the fire at Wanganui. The loss is estimated at £9000, half of which is covered by insurance principally in the London and Liverpool office. The Government is anxiously looK ing for news from Colonel Whitmore, who, with the friendlies and constabulary, was reported some days ago to be fast closing in Te Kooti's small band oflls.v<~
