The s.s. Storm Bird, Capt. Doile, arrived ib harbour last night at 7.30 from Wellington, having left on Monday, at 7 p.m. ; experienced fine weather during the passage. The Stormbird sails for Duuedin this day. The barque southern Cross, arrived yesterday, from Hobartown ; left on the IBth ftastant, had a fair run across to Otago heads, which were passed on Christmas Day, since experienced very unsettled weather, the last •4 hours being a N W. gale ; on the 25th exchanged signals witli the barque Record ©ff the Nuggetts ; was in company with a loaded brig with double topsail-yards when «C Oamaru, but the brig steering an outside course, could not make her name out. The Southern Cross has a full cargo of tini&c., and is consigned to Mr W. H. Hargreaves. v\ c are obliged to Captain Thompson for files. 'Ihe s.s. Rangitoto, W. 11. Bax, cora■aarider, from Melbourne, via West Coast •nd Wellington, arrived in harbour last night - At 7 o'clock. Left Melbourne on the 19th at 5 p.m.; experienced five weather . throughout, and arrived at Hokitika on the " .S'ith, at 9 p.m., the passage occupying five •days and two hours. Was tendered on the ifith, at Hokitika, and left same day for Grey. Left Grey on the 26th at 9 a.m., direct for Wellington, and arrived at Wel- ,. lington on the 27th at 11 a.m. On the 28th i£ discharged cargo, and left the same day for sj. Lyttelton. Experienced strong winds from A the S.W , and arrived at Lyttelton as above. .'-The Rangitoto passed the s.s. Gothenburg on -the I9th. in Ilobson's Bay, bound in; also, " -the s.s.
