WOOL SALES.

The Home News reports that at the August sales the wool had declined 2d, 3d, and 4d per lb on the lowest price obtained in the May- June sales. The sales commenced on the 13th August, and terminated on Sept. 25. The arrivals comprised 58,583 bales Sydney 64,003 bales Victorian, 8855 bale*

Tasmanian, 50,960 bales New Zealand, 11,864 bales South Australian, 480 bales Swan River, 31,386 bales Cape of Good Hope, making a total of 226,127 bales, of which, however, 26,223 bales were for future sale. In addition to these, 23,600 bales have been withdrawn from time to time during the currency of the sales, of which it is estimated that about 17,600 bales still remain in first hands.
