Pout Chalmers — .—Nov. 10, 7.30 a.m., Omeo, from Bluff. Hokitika. — Nov. 10, 6.30 a.m., Zephyr, from Melbourne. The following telegram appears in the Wellington Ei>iing Post of Nov. 6: — Nelson, Nov. 6, the Jolin Pcnn arrived here at 10 o'clock last night. She reports the threemasted schooner Amateur, 232 tons, belonging; to this port, Lane, master, bound to Newcastle, and loadod with timber, ashore on the sand spit about a mile and a half to the eastward of Bush End. The passengers have arrived safely. The p.s. Lady Barkly was deppatehed this morning to her assistance with every necessary gear. The harbourmaster, Mr J. S. Cross, sent second pilot and part of boat's crew. There are signs of a south-east gale.
