The Government organ says that Mr Stafford accepts the offer of the Timaru seat in the House of Representatives. Mr Hall returned to "Wellington yesterday. Mr Bunny is made a Major of Militia. The Custom House was broken into yesterday, but nothing was stolen, the money having been lodged in the bank. The Ruahine took 2_< passengers. There is no fighting on the East Coast. The rebels are still in the bush. At the Court of Appeal the rule for a new trial in the case of Miles v. Waitt, was discharged with costs.
