PROPOSED ROAD THROUGH HAGLEY PARK.
TO THE EDITOR OF TUB BTAK. Sir, — A letter which npppare'l in your Saturday's issue, signed " South of the Line," may, I think, be replied to satisfactorily in a few words. The whole harden of the letter is, that the proposed roa-1 will put additional burdens on the ratepayers generally. Now, Sir, if your correspondent had paid attention to the various steps of the movement, he would have seen that the only expense which the promoters are likely to ask the Borough Council to incur is half the cost of one bridge over the Avon. The Borough Couucil gave a precedent for this in the case of the Manchester street bridge recently erected, and not very much required. Your obedient servant, CITIZEN.
