CHRISTCHURCH. THIS DAY. (Before C. C. Bowen, Esq , R.M.) Drunkenness.— Thomas Sadler, on bail, appeared in answer lo a charge of having been drunk and incapable yesterday. The offence was admitted, but being "his first nppearance b-fore the Bench the nominal penalty of 5s was inflicted. Obscene Language. — Robert Simmons was brought up in custody charged with baying uaed obscene language in a public thoroughfare. Constable Jeffrey said, be tween 11 and 12 o'clock last night, he saw prisoner talking in a very loud and improper manner to some prostitutes in High street. After leaving them he usad still worse language in a much louder strain, and would not desist. His Worship inflicted a fine of ss. Cattlk Trespass Ordiyancb. — Arthur Hill was fined 5s for tethering a horse in Gloucester street.
