The Star Office, This Day. Otago — The Daily Times, of Oct. 27 reports : — At the sale of cattle at .\fessrs Driver, M'Lean and Co.'s yards, Kaikorai, yesterday, 40 head were exposed. The quality was very superior to any which have been brought forward for months. They were fed at Mr Anderson's station in the Mataura district. The bullocks ranged from £14 to £18 a head, being about 45s per cwt. There was a large attendance and brisk sale. We are informed that several transactions have taken place in fat sheep recently. One lot of 500 wedders, from the Mataura, averaged about 15s per head, delivered at the Clutha. The market is firm for real fat sheep, complaints being general as to the inferior quality of mutton offered.
