ThisDit. (Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M.) ' Abusite Language:— Robert Heron 1 was charged with baring used abusive and insulting language towards John Cassin, on the 3rd instant. Complainant said on the erening of the day named,' he was Bpeaking to a man on the Lincoln road, when defendant came up, and without any provocation, or even being spoken to, swore at him in a very violent and insulting manner. Two : witnesses ; were called and although: one professed to have no knowledge of the matter, the other supported complainant's statement. Defandant did not deny the offence, but merely said he did not remember doing what was imputed to him. He was fined 10s, and ordered to pay the two witnesses' expenses. Judgment for full Amount and costs was given in the following cases :— W. Pratt v, Mrs W. Beechey, £12 16s 9d. McKinley v. Thos. Rowe, £6. James Crowley r. Win. Sparey, 17s 6d. Jameß Vickers v. R. W. Stoddart, £1 10s. Avon Road Board, v. W. Elliott, £ I 2b. Same v. J. D. Lockhart, £10l0s. Same y. W. Sicamore, £1 ss. J. Baldwin vJT. PepperiU, £1 10s. W.Pratt v. J. Walters, £16 3s 4d. Wm. Verrall r. James Johnston, £* 6a 3d. G. S. Sale v. W. Grant, £16. Hawkes and Strouts v. Thos. Jones,. £7 8s lOd. In the remaining cases; judgment was given as follows: — A. N. Rowland v. R. Taylor, £4 4s, plaintiff nonsuited. A. Harris r. Green, £12 19s. Judgment for defendant. W. Pratt v. Mrs B. Lloyd, £6 13s lOd. Plaintiff was nonsuited, defendant/ pleading that she was a married woman, and denying that she had told plaintiff when asking for credit, that she had private means to pay with.
