ARRIVHB. Sept. 8 — Moa, s.s., M'Clatchie, from Lyttelton, in ballast. SAILED. Sept. B—Nora,8 — Nora, schooner, Black, for Napier, with 389 sacks wheat, Birch and Co. In consequence of some articles having teen found on the beach near Terawiti, last week, leading to the supposition that some onfortunate vessel had been wrecked thereabouts, Mr Hill was despatched yesterday morning, by the Customs to make inquiries sad report thereon. About half a mile from Happy Valley on the beach he picked up the lid of a kerosine case marked ABO *, three miles further on he saw a portion of a boat, three planks, copper fastened, teak wood, j-ain-ed wliite on both sides ; some hundred yards the other side of Black Rock found a lieu coop, between 9 and 10 feet long, made of teak, painted oak colour, the railings in front being round ; at Karori Stream fouud an empty case marked ABO, side out, yet in •good order, and did not appear to have been fang exposed ; met Mr Hunter's shepherd, who showed him two tins containing oil which were found lying alongside the case just mentioned on Monday last ; they appeared to be full, in very good order, and not at all rusted ; then went to Mr 3 Macmanajnan's, at Cape Terawiti, when that lady said ahc lnd picked up a chest containing tea, about two-thirds full, at Orangoronga, which appeared to have been hroken open by the action of the sea ; the only marks on it were JNO on the matting, which were brought into town together with a piece of the hencoop. — Wellington Evening Post, Sept. 1. 1 Jtt-JJ "
