Donald, B, S, Kllisdon, U. Davfo, O. Taylor } aixl that they hold the property (which is very valuable) in trust. XThottino Match.— A very exciting match camo off at Ranglora, on Saturday last, i between Mr MurphyV Bantam and Mr F. Hcpworth'rt Dandy, tho distance beiiiß from tho Lion Hotel to Woodond —via Wnrd'u Hotel— in all, about S miles. Being both local and well known homes, the preliminary arrangements had aroused considerable Interest, and backers of both wcro not wanting, Tho race being fixed for 7 a.m., a largo number' of tho local sportsmen began to asscmblo shortly after half-past nix, and Bovorat bets wcro laid, Bantam appearing to possess tho most supporters. Tho horses were started a few minutes after tbo appointed time, on very even terms, and a close contest appeared to bo in store. Unfortunately Bantam broke before proceeding « quarter of a mile, and Dandy keeping steadily on, he fell Home distance to the rear. Again they were on tolerably oven terms, but Bantam persisted in his bad practices and broko several times. I'orhaps this was to sonic extent owing to the crowd ot horsemen following close at his heels j and certainly the proceeding was ccnMirablc, but, be it as it may, he continued to fall further behind at every mile, Mr llcpworth's horse going in a beautifully steady manner with a swinging pace, and ultimately winning by about fifty yards, The time occupied was 33 minutes, and, although many thought Bantam would have won had the ftioctators given him a wider berth) Mr licpworth's horse deserves all credit for his victory.
