Hon Bay. —A correspondent gives tho following account of the disasters that occurred hero on Friday night, About midnight a heavy wave or borocamc up tho river, doing considerable damage to everything on Its hanks, Thoso waves continued to roll up with from a quarter to hulf-an-lioiir between them, gradually getting higher, until between three and four on Saturday morning, a tremendous wave or wall of water, from ao to 2fi foot high, came up the river, carrying everything before It, About 20,000 feet of hivwu tlmbor, belonging to Mr Dalgllsh, was washed away and lost, Hall and Cufl' bad a quantity od fencing and flvowood swept away, and tho sea water wiih two foot deep In their bouso, All their stores arc damaged, and a long piece of their tramway was washed away, The Government bridge, ahd a private brldgo belonging to Mr John Smith, In whoso lioitMO tho water was from three to four foot doop, were also washed away. Ills tramway, and about 1_,0()() feet of timber havuhocu completely swept uway...Thc river, whioh was about 1 J chains wide before, and a feet doop, Is now ton fcot deep, and from 0 to 10 ohalns wide. A punt, 40 feet long, that has been sunk for two years, was washed up and carried more thau half-a-inllo up tho river, and loft on a sand hank about twelve, fyot abovo high water mark. It was quito dry. I was thon 'ablo to got into tlio house, and got sonic clothes. In the meantime Harry Mcintosh had got his family together, when there came another rush, and it was a piteous sight to sco tho littlo children lv their night clothes running for tho hill. The weather was bitterly cold, Mr and Mrs Finlay, Mr and Mrs ; Hunter, and the Misses Wughorn, woro vary kind to us, We had another heavy rush at ono p.m. Tho water was three Inches higher than at hai f-nast six. If tho water had risen a foot higher It would havo swept away all the houses on the flat ; fortunately It was low water when tho first rush oamo, or we should all havo been drowned. It Is mud every where. Tho Struggler, ketch, was floating about In v placo where a dingy could novel' go j tho bridges arc floating about In. the bay 5 one of them Is in Flnlay's garden, which is destroyed. Mcintosh's fence ls carried away.
