Sir,— Would you kindly insert tho following? iScvcrnl complaints hnvo been mado to tho Inspector of Nuisances by various inhabitants of Damplor'tj Buy about tho state o£ the road leading past a row of cottages known na •Toyeo Town, whoso occupants throw out dirt, slops, &a, on to tho nlopo Rt tho fltdo of the road, thereby canning an intolerable stcn :h to passers by. Tho Inspector reported tho abova to the Council, as per your hut report, when one who has always distinguish© 1 himself by lilh wisa sayings and doings, mado the reply, " That if tho Council began to interfere, they would have cndlcs.i trouble." Now, I should like to know what U tho nso of a Borough Council who, after tho Inspector has dono his duty, quietly snubs him, and is too lazy to tnko tho troublo to do away with n nuisance whioh, now ns tho sun is gottlng warmer, will bo a capital hotbed for fever. Tho Council oun got roads made to their own houses, also naphnlt pavements leading past their dwellings, but cannot take the troublo to do away with a nuinanco or to asphalt tho pavement of Norwich Quny, from the Union Hank to the Mitre. If wo go for a walk round Summer Road wo aro met by a stench from tlm night soil deposit, and by other atnelln too numerous to particularise, and now wo shall soon bo blookcd in on tho Damplcr's Bay Road by tho unpleasant smell from tho above cottages > and yet wo haro to pay heavy rates.
