Monoay, July 27, Present • Councillors England, Allwright, Willcox, Mutton, Ward, ttalesliee, Chilmcrs j tho Mayor presiding. The minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed. Amounts collected during tho week; rates, £34 12s 6d, rent, £22 10s. Correspondence read; Prom Mr W. H, Hargreaves, Captain Commandant of the Artillery, stating in reply to tho Council's letter, that neither tho Provincial nor General Government had made any provision for removing the guns, and if they were ordered from the sh ed, it would seriously injure the corps, and perhaps cause the guns to bo removed from tho province. Ho expressed a hopo that tho Council would allow them to remain. From P. PavlU, stating lhat the trustee* of Christ's College would grant the Council a loose for 21 yeara of tho land leading north of Canterbury street. From W. Graham,
