Tho following mombors woro prcsont i— Mr Fisher I (chairman), Messrs Koiinaway,'Gariand,'and Tho minutes of tho prccodlng mooting woro road and confirmed. Tho following lottors woro read and considered t— •' Irom Mr 0. TClvor, complaining that his horse had fallen over a hoap of gravel whioh had boon loft by tho contractors on Colombo Road, and drawing tho attention of the Board tothofaot that a serious acoldont might roiu!t from gravel bolug loft In heaps on roads j rt lottor from tho Roy. G*. J, Cholmondoly, requesting thb Board to havo tho road mado loading from tho Iforry Road to tho Ocmotory, as tho agonts woro propared to dedicate tho road to tho Government, and tho subscribers to a fund which had boon collected for the purposo woro .desirous that tho work should bo dono undor tho direction of tho Board ■ a lottor from Mr Green, requesting that a culvert bo mado and fixed across tho road, noar hls proporty at tho eand-hllla j a lottor from Mr Smlthson, drawing tho attention of tho Board to tho ohoked stato of tho drain which runs through his and Mr Bhodos' property, and stating that tho obstruction was on Mr Rhodes' land, and thoroforo tho drainage of his land was impodod i from J. Whittlngton, rcquosting tho Board to allow him something for work dono by him to the Canal Rosorvo Drain j and also, a memorial from Mr Hassal, and others, requesting tho Board to repair tho road loading from Wilson's road to tho now Opawa Bridge. Thn Hurvoyor roportod that a piece of land had boon bought for a gravel pit, oi! Mr Williams, for X7O. Ho had soon Mr Stewart relative to tho Avon Rlvor Koad, nnd ho had stated that ho would soo what amount could bo collcotod by subscription for tho purposo of making tho same, and would communicate tho rot-ult, Tho following resolutions woro thon passodi —That Mr Klvor bo thanked for calling tho attoution of tho Board to tho heap of motal left on Colombo streot. and ho bo also informed that tho motal was loft thoro by a cart in tlio employ of tho City Counoll ■ that tho Survoyor do rcquoutcd to roport on tho road leading to tho Hoathoete cemetery, referred to In a lottor from Mr Cholm<yidoly, and, If necessary, to call lor tondorn for forming tho samo • that Mr Green bo pormltiod to placo a culvert across tho road, roforrod to in his lottor, under tho supervision of tho Hurvoyor, but tho Board is unablo to mako tlio culvert an requested j that Mr Smlthson ho Informed that tho Board has already had tho subject roforrod to in his letter undor consideration, and that it Is unable to proceed lv the matter until further logisln. Whlttington bo informed, in roply to liis application, that tho delay In carrying on the work, and by his throwing up the contract for tho canal rosorvo drain, has put the Board to n largo extra expense, and that it thoroforo not only docs not fcol itsolf jua tilled in acceding to his application, but that it has had under its consideration whether lt would not call upon him and his sureties for tho damngo consequent thorcon j that tho Survoyor bo Inßtruoted to ropalr tho road crossing tho crook, on Miction 49, In accordance with application from Mr Hassan and others j. that application bo mado to tho Govornmonc for permission to übo somo of tho metal at tho Hoathcoto Valloy Yladuct, for tho purposo of motalllng the road leading to tho Bridlepath, Tho Board adjourned.
