W.I. MEMBERS ON VISIT TO THE CHATEAU
THREE-DAY TRIP TO FINISH TODAY There was only one vacant seat in the bus which left Te Puke at 8.45 a.in. on Wednesday, conveying a very representative party of ladies from the dis- ; trict to the Chateau. According to the schedule arranged by the organiser (Mrs J. M. Hodges, of Paengaroa) the, first stop would be made at Rotorua for morning tea. Unbeknown to -the tourists, the organiser had been able to arrange a visit to Station IYZ during that Ureak. Afternoon tea would be enjoyed at Oraka-Koraka, after which the party would be shown the thermal wonders of that area. ' The next source of interest before ireaqhing Wairakei, their destination for the night, would be the drive through the Atiamuri Forest. The journey next morning would be broken at Turangi, for morning tea, the party arriving at the Chateau for lunch. During the afternoon the ladies would inspect the winter sports ground and the more intrepid may display their skill. The return trip is planned to commence this morning and, travelling direct via Taupo, they are expected to arrive at Te Puke by 5.30 p.m. Among the travellers are Mesdames C, Whitehead, L. Butcher, J. Campbell, M. Singleton, W. and K. Bennett, J. Ronald, C. Crootc, R. Clark, M. Hickson, J. Cawte, T. Conway, W. Burt, A. Fagan, A. Beckett, C, Rhodes, R. Pilkington, I. Vercoe, F. Sherman (Tga.), F. Higginson, A. Nettlingham, J. Pearce, J. Ryan, F. Antram, P. Barnett, W. Riddell, W. Law, F. Cheetham and M. Hodges and Miss R. Phillips.
