SLOW AND LABORIOUS PROCESS
PRESENT METHOD ADOPTED FOR CUTTING AND MIXING POISON
At a recent meeting of the Pongakawa Rabbit Board, Mr M. B. McKenzie stated that, together with the inspector (Mr C. H. Davis) he had experimented in mixing poison, and .the method of mixing the poison by manual labour, tas used by the board, was a most laborious process. He suggested that other methods should be investigated. Mr McKenzie pointed out that it was .necessary to instal a fan or blower to remove the fumes' from the mixing shed, as these were quite bad at times. The hand cutting of poison is a slow job, and •it should be possible to have a suitable knife made, he added. It w.?s decided that Messrs Davis and McKenzie should inspect the mixing plant at Frankton; also that they be authorised to purchase a suitable fan or blower, or other equipment for clearing the fumes, after they had inspected the Frankton plant.
