LETTER OF THANKS FORWARDED TO MR R. R. DOWNES

The first monthly meeting of the Te Puke District High School, Committee for the 1949 year wds held on Monday night, the chairman (Mr iA. C. GilD, presiding, over a good attendance of members.

The new secretary (Mr W. Clark), who was attending his first meeting, was instructed to send of letter of thanks to Mr JR. R. Downes, who is now domiciled in Stratford. The context of the letter will convey in the warmest terms, the committee’s appreciation of the efforts expended on its behalf by Mr Downes during h ten years that he held the office of secretary.
