“MISS NEW ZEALAND" QUEST
N OMINATIONS NOT RESTRICTED
Any organisation can nominate a girl in the “Miss New Zealand” Quest; it is not confined only to the Air Force Association, as some people seem to to think. This point was made recently ._ by Mr A. J. M. Manson, chairman of the board of directors of the Quest. Mr Manson said that the fact that the first three candidates nominated were being sponsored by the various branches of the Air Force Association had apparently given rise to the misapprehension that girls could get nomination only through Association branches.
“This, of course, is not so,” said Mr manson. “As in the previous quest, nominations can be made by all sorts of organisations social, sporting, women’s, business or professional—in fact, by any organised group of citizens. Or, there is nothing to prevenj; a girl making her own nomination and finding her own entry fee.”
