TWO NEW BUSINESSES

NOW IN OPERATION IA TE PUKE

An unnsal sight in the Te Puke town area is a thick column of smoke rising in the vicinity of Granger's Garage. It G rising from a huge boiler installed by Mr Harry Bramble and it is this boiler that is operating a complete dry-cleaning apparatus. When Dad’s trousers become', baggy, or he has cleaned his engine in his one and. only pair of sports pants (and there is no doubt that to-day-men are practically out of pants'.) tin* newly completed Te Puke Dry Cleaner Riant will salve the wreckage. Mr Bramble showed us file very sizeable plant and to our lav mind we really expected to see pounds of butter resting on the last machine. There were boilers and steam tubes, something that looked like a separator, drying vats, and on view in the front room the actual pressing machine with its multiple foot pedals and handles. Harry assured us it was not a Wurlitzer organ hut a brand now New Zealand made presser, Tnoideutlly, we tried hard to get him to demonstrate how it work* cl by offering him the loan of a sports coat badly in need of attention. Our Scotch instinct led ns nowhere as he proceeded to write out a docket for the job! He is offering a very prompt service for all .types of cleaning and pressing and Iris business should provide a long needed requirement/ He has the assistance of a specialist in the work and it is worth mentioning here that the said assistant is looking for a house in or around Te Puke. The other new business has been <-onnnouer'<l bv Mr E. Cu.ml in Mr R. Dunlop’s building and encompasses all classes .of upholstery. ranging from ears, hoods, eic., and including all kinds of furniture, This again is a trade which has diverted much urgent work to other and more' expensive centres. Tt is felt that both these young mi'ii will he warmly supported in their ventures.
