PONGAKAWA BEATS TE PUKE

On Sunday last a friendly match between the Te Puke Colts and Pongakawa was played. Crowley and Searle opened for Te Puke, and Searle followed up Saturday’s effort with another fine exhibition of batting. Crowley played the block and gave his best performance for some time. Both these batsmen were retired as time got short, but the remainder of the batsmen failed to remain long at the crease. For Pongakawa, Reid and Clarkson were the opening batsmen. Reid was very aggressive and scored quickly with nicely placed shots. Cleagy showed a great improvement of form and retired with 42 runs to his credit.
