MONTHLY SHIPMENTS The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments of meat ' 4 from Australia, couth America and - South Africa to the United Kingdom during the month of July, 1939, were as follows: — Australia.—Carcases of mutton .43784; lamb, 54,815 s quarters of beef (frozen) 141,800, (chilled) 40,642. South America—Carcases of mutton, 5,267; lamb, 190,296; quarters of beef (frozen) 1,659, (chilled) 432,491. South Africa (including Southern Rhodesia)—Quarters of beef (chilleu) ■ 6,682. : The shipments from New Zealand to . the United Kingdom for the period were as follows : Carcases, of mutton 118,840; lamb 959,9oo; quarters beef (frozen) 16,178, (chilled) 13,182, RETAIL PRICES in LONDON 'The New Zealand Meat Produce ' %oard had also been advised that the following prices were being quoted for lamb and mutton retailed m London > during July, 1939. These prices represent a fair average of the prices quotec by the better classes of London shops for the best quality of New Zealand lamb and mutton. Lalmb: —Legs 12d per lb, shoulders lid., loins lldi, necks 6d., breasts 3d;, forequarters Bd., hindquarters 10 2 -d. '.
