Ward of the Bay of Plenty and Rotorua Hunt Club, several good runs being obtained. -The first Pill -of the seas&.n took place after a long and exciting run in Hie evening the visitors were cniertairied at a ‘social gathering in, the l aengaroa ;Ha.il... The hpqrids threw off at the • -Paangaroa Hall and worked .through uhe propen ties oU. Messrs S. Vercoe ar.d J, Iv-vis, then across the road to Messrs Matthews Brothers’ farm, where a strong hare was raised, which led the pack and riders lor a good three-mile run before the first kill of the season was effected. A move was then made to Mr J. Levis’ property, where the pack soon raised another hare, which led the hunt to Mr C. Mundt’s farm before it was lost in the river. A farther scent was obtained on Air Russell’s • counery, the hare passing over Mr D. Drever s farm before doubling: back to Mr Russell’s and thence to Messrs Matthews. Brothel's, (the scent being eventually lost in the swamp.
