WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

PUKEHINA The monthly meeting of the Pukehina Institute was held on Thursday, 22nd September. Arrangements were made for the forthcoming flower show to be held on Wednesday, October 19th. Mrs Stuart Gunton read a report of the Group Committee meeting held in Te Puke on 29tli August, and Mrs Babbage gave an interesting demonstration on Organdie work.

A bring and buy stall was a financial success. Competitions were won by Miss Joyce Mikkelsen and Miss Florence Mikkelsen, who tied for Ist place for worked doyley. Mrs Gunton won the prize for best

flower. Four new members were wel corned. The roll call was “Make shifts,”

The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
