PAENGAROA

CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS BALL

Streamers in rainbow shades gaily decorated the Paengaroa Hall for the School,Children’s Fancy Dress

Bali last Friday night. Colourful and original costumes were much admired, and each child thoroughly enjoyed his new role. > The Grand March opened the evening’s programme. This was

again a very worthy exhibition, and the children and teachers must be congratulated on the accuracy and ease with which every figure was carried out. Throughout the entire evening the dancing was enjoyed by children and adults. This was ably conducted by Mr Clifford Vercoe. Winners of the Children’s Monte Carlo were Betty Taylor (Butterfly) and Kevin Treloar (Persian Prince). Immense delight was shown by the smiling faces of the children, when the joker was cut during this dance.

Sir Roger de Coverley danced by

the Tiny Tots made many parents’ hearts swell with pride as they watched these small folk skipping and bowing gracefully. !

To all who helped to make the evening so successful, especially to the noble ladies of the kitchen, the School Committee extend their sincere thanks. Those in fancy dress were :
