BOXING CLUB DANCE
AT PUKEHINA
The dance held by the Pukehina Boxing Club on Friday night last ■was a success in every way, the attendance including many visitors from Te Pnke, Matata and Edgecumbe.
The floor was perfect and the Pukehina Orchestra, which supplied the music, was in very good form. Extras were played by Mrs Lea (Piano) and Mr R. Shick (Accordion). After a plentiful and enjoyable supper Mr Pattie, in introducing the President and instructor Mr D. Corrigan, said members of the club were to be congratulated on their achievements at the recent tournaments at Whakatane and Opotiki. The club was only recently Started and much credit was due to their instructor. He wished them many further success in the future. Mr Corrigan in replying thanked Mr Pattie for his remarks and wishes and stated that he had full confidence in the lads for any tournaments in which they may enter in the future. MrChatfield (Te Puke Club) also spoke and congratulated the club on its achievements.
The trophies won by the lads were then presented by the President to T. Ranapia (2 cups), T. Paul, B. Anderson, L. Lang (2 cups) and G. The competition winners were : Monte Carlo.—Miss Ngawhika and Mr Cbatfield and Miss I. MiSPi sen, Miss J. Neilson and Mr R. Schick; Spot dance —Mrs Frazer and Mr J. Pattie. Items which were very much appreciated were given by Mr J. Horne (song), Mr Stone (song) Matata choir (action song), Pukehina choir (action song), and an exhibition of skmping by Mr T. Paul. Mr 0. Fagan was an efficent M.C.
