The Chairman of the Town Board (Mr H. O. Cooney) is In receipt of a letter from the Chairman of the Empire Day Committee, Auckland, to the effect that the Hon, the Minister of Education, has informed Miss Mowbray, 0.8. E. President of the Vic toria League, that he approves of appropriate addresses being given in all schools on Empire Day (May 24) In order, therefore, that the provincial schools should be included, an appeal is made that the Board should assist by arranging in this district for suitable speakers, arrangements to be made with the head teachers as to suitable times, subject to approval by school committees.
