MURDER AT TOKIRIMA
A YOUTH SHOT DEAD

Anderson thin pointed a rifla at Jim Loft, but Fred Telfour. av' lad aged 18 interposed and re.' , ceived the charge in the chest, He died in five minutes, The other Loft brother was ab« sent at another farm at Ohura, Jim Loft rushed through the bedroom and escaped through a window, swam the Ohura River, and walked barefooted, through the bush 16 mile 3 to the Aukopae boat landing, on the Wanganui Kiver, where he is now in bed in a state of collapse. Anderson, who is a' returned i soldier and well-known as a/?* bcotch piper had been sacked by '' - the. Loft Bros., and it is stated had a grudge against them.
William Anderson, who is ac- < cused of the*'murder, was ar-' C rested on Sunday, two miles from the scene of the tragedy.
