Destruction of A Zeppelin

Gas Explodes While Being Filled Amsterdam, November 21. Soldiers at Ober, in Lower Alsace, were pumping gas into a Zeppelin when a violent explosion destroyed the craft, killing one and wounding eight of the soldiers. Later reports state that the Zeppelin was brand new, and was of the latest type. It occupied a new shed, covering an acre of ground.

During alterations to the roof of the shed 11 workman, smoking in defiance of orders, dropped a cigar on the envelope, which at once burst into flames. Eleven men were killed or injured.
