London, July 11.
General Botha's ultimatum to the German force in.South-West Af rk'a expired on Thursday evening. The Germans surrendered unconditionally. General Botha reports that 204 officers and3,lG6 men have surrendered, with 37 field guns and 22 Maxims. All the South African towns are beilagged. The news has created intense popular enthusiasm. General Botha'and General Smuts have been inundated with congratulations. Lord Kitchener has cabled to Geneial Botha, expressing admiration of his masterly conduct of the campaign, and adding " I shall warmly welcome you and the South Africans who come over to join us."
