ATHLETICS.
Wellington Centre. The Wellington A.A. Club contemplate holding three or four specially attractive sports meetingsthis summer, the first of them to eventuate. It ie rumoured that they will endeavour to bring together a galaxy of talent in the champion class, including A. Mason (the soldier half-miler), H. E. Wilson (the hurdler), and. one or two others. Negotiations are, I understand,, in progress concerning some wellknown Australian fliers. This is good news. A revival in athletics ie much desired, and the importation of class talent should create interest, and give us some contests worth seeing. • • ■ J. Lindsay. I read a paragraph in one of the papers saying that J. Lindsay (New Ztealand), amateur, who was disqualified for life by the Stawell A.C. in connection with the last Easter gift, applied to the League for reconsideration, but the League confirmed the disqualification. The only New ZeaJander I know was the J. Lindsay who was selected in place of George Davidson to participate in the Australasian championships. The act that apparently merited disqualification is not made clear. Lindsay was considered faster than our George, but his performance at Sydney was very disappointing. George, on the other hand, at Home has shown that he is among, the best of the world.
