The Soldiers' Club is no longer in the V.M.C.A. Buildings in Wellesley Street, the club rooms having reverted to the V.M.C.A. Temporary premises have, however, been found in the Y.W.C.A. Buildings, opposite to the old club premises, and all members are invited to go there.

In connection with the Te Aroha Jockey Club's Annual Race Meeting —commencing on Saturday week, the Secretary announces that Returned Soldiers wearing their badges will be admitted free to the course and grandstand.

Mr. J. Campbell Gillies has opened a studio in Auckland, for personal instruction in pianoforte playing, voice production, and singing. He emphasises particularly the cultivation of the voice in its effect on the production of vocal tone, good health, confidence, and pleasure. He is forming classes during the year for theory, harmony, and counterpoint, and teachers' classes will also be found. He possesses gratifying testimonials from Sister Catherine, of St. Hilda's Collegiate School, Mr. T. K. Sidey, M.P., Mr. R. Watkin Mills, Principal F. P. Bowler of the Christian Brothers, Dunedin, Madame Antonia Dolores, Mr. S. Nisbet, principal of "Archerfield" School, Dunedin), Mr. W. Howitson, master of Knox College, Miss Frances J. Ross, M.A., Columbia College, Dunedin, and Dr. Andrew Cameron, Chancellor of Otago University.

There will be an invasion of the peaceful town of Te,„Aroha on Race Day, Saturday, " February 28th, for the Te Aroha Boxing Association has a splendid programme of contests arranged for the Theatre Royal. These include a great 15-round professional contest for the featherweight championship of New Zealand, the holder (Robinson) meeting the challenger, Keenan, for a purse of £50. Any number of New Zealand amateurs of the highest quality are also competing.
