The Billiards Association and the Billiards Control Club, who recently joined forces, have issued a list of conditions governing this season'sprofessional championship, the date of which has not yet been fixed. Entries must be made before November 30 with an entrance fee of £100, which will be put towards the .prize fund. The winner of thechampionship will reoeive two-thirds of the entrance fees, with a silver challenge prize and a gold medal, and the runner-up will receive then other third of the entrance fees.

It is suggested that two-thirds of the "gate" money be divided equally among the players, but any other method of division may be submitted to the council for their approval. Preliminary games are to as before, 8,000 points, and hnal game 16,000 points. Play, at both afternoon and evening sessions will be continued until one player reaches his points, but in any case-will not be extended beyond three hours. Inman's Challenge. Inman has offered to give any player in the world 1,500 start in a game of 16,000 up, and play for anything from £100 to £500 aside. In case they all speak at once, he says, they can be obliged in turn. There are no restrictions of any kind. Both Newman and Smith have expressed their willingness to accept the challenge.
